When Mom isn't looking...
This is what happens when mommy is getting ready and Hali dresses herself. She is going to kill me if this picture comes back to haunt her in 15 years. *Note: I swear, under oath, that I did not set up this picture or have anything to do with the compilation of this ensemble.*
p.s. When she came to me she asked, "Mommy, you like my hat?" Priceless.

Me and My Girls
Cory has been gone all week and I have been with the girls alone and I really love it! I can't believe how big they both are. Hali is such a great talker/communicator and mommy's helper. Anything I need she will help me get. She also loves to help me make meals, smoothies, cookies, or whatever she can go up to the counter for. Hali is amazing with Emery. She will share her snacks with Emery and tell her, "Awww, I lub you sissy, *kiss*". I hope they will continue to be best buddies their whole lives. Emery has officially started crawling and puling herself up on things. She started off army crawling pretty well but got tired easily and then she gets up on all fours and just revs back and forth. Now she is on the go! Hali is not sure about it because Emery will crawl toward what Hali is playing with and she is still a little possessive of her toys. It is so fun to see how different my two girls are as babies. Hali was very stoic and observant and Emery is very giggly and dramatic. They are both great babies and have been such a blessing to me. It's amazing to love one baby more than life and then another comes in and it's just more love and more room in your heart. I love my girls so much.

My life in a very small nutshell
Some people....... Well, you can't be mad at a few of them. Those ones are just ignorant. Or in ignorant bliss. This article, for me, explains it pretty well plus 5 or 10 things.

It's Been a Long Time
I guess with being a mother of 2 babies I only have so much time to spend on myself. And I usually use that time to shower or clean up after my crazy tornado I call Hali. So, I have recorded myself playing my guitar and singing some of my favorite songs. I used to do it ALL the time and I loved it so when you see the videos you will know why they are a little rusty. Ok, a lot rusty. I'm still not sure why I am putting this up for public ridicule but whatever! It's my blog, so there!
........Enjoy the sounds........ of Molly......... :)
Yes, one of them I am in my bathroom. What can I say... it has good acoustics...

The Penfolds came to town!
Mimi and Nate and baby Jarrett came to visit us last week and it was so much fun! Besides the fact that the girls were sick, we still had a good time hanging out, watching movies, playing video games, shopping, going to the zoo, and more!! They stayed for almost a week and I didn't want them to leave!! I miss my sissy! It was a good time though.

Hali's 2nd Birthday
Hali's birthday was on October 20th and I forgot to post it. Well, I forget to post a lot of things but I will be better. It's one of those resolution thingys. :) We were in Utah, Idaho, and Arizona on a very sporadic road trip and we spent her birthday in Rexburg, ID at Char and Tom's house. It was a lot of fun! Hali got some princess jewelry, a truck, a video, and a princess tent. All the cousins loved playing with the new toys and we all enjoyed the birthday cake by Aunt Charlotte.

These last 2 pictures are Hali "feeding" her babies and Hali's first time playing in snow. It was right outside Jackson Hole, WY.

It's just life.
We have been busy with everything. Hali was really sick with a cough and fever, then (of course) Emery got it. She had it bad and had to get an Albuterol nebulizer and some steroids so she could breathe. Then Cory got a bad sore throat and then it was my turn... all I can say is thank goodness for steroids or I would have eaten at all! I couldn't even swallow water. I had horrible body aches, bad headache, chills and fever, congestion. The works. It's been fun but I am functional again thanks to the medicine. I am still not 100%.
The girls are growing up so fast and it's fun to see them play and interact. Hali is such a nurturing little helper and Emery is so funny and giggly. Hali can make her laugh doing just about anything! She will jump around or play peekaboo and Emery laughs and it is such a riot to watch. I love watching them grow and learn but it is also going by too quickly. What is a mom to do? Emery is going to be 8 months old on the 21st and Hali is 2 and 2 months. I love my girls!
Well Christmas was fun and Hali really enjoyed opening her presents and playing with her dolls and new games and watching her princess videos. Emery just liked to eat the paper Hali threw her way! Then we went to the Metcalf's house to play some more and then we headed to Houston to visit my dad and step-mom for a few days. It was a fun Christmas!

Hali and I also went to Shelby and James Berg's wedding reception. I knew them when I lived in College Station, TX. Hali was so funny there. She just wanted to dance and she kept stealing other peoples cake off their plates. Thanks Jesse! She was very cute!

I am officailly crafty.
I just want to brag on myself because I can. I used to not feel very crafty or cute and I decided to stop telling myself I am not this or that, and just do. My dining room chairs were really bothering me because they are fabric covered and very hard to clean. With a 2 year old and another baby soon to walk and make messes too, I wanted to do something about it. They had red sidewalk chalk on it, spilled root beer, and who knows what else. (I did try to clean the chairs, but to no avail. I am not that dirty people!) Well I bought some fabric and some grandma sofa vinyl covering and redid them. They are fabulous if I may say so myself. I even have some extra fabric and I am making pillows to match! I am unstoppable!

It's Fall
Considering it is Fall now, I have decided to do what I said I was going to do and document what our family has been doing this past summer. I guess I will start at the beginning.
We went to the Brian & Rhonda Metcalf family reunion at the end of July. It was fun for Cory to see all of his siblings, for Hali to meet all of her cousins and for everyone to meet Emery who was 2 months old at the time. We played games and visited and watched all the grandchildren play. Hali loved jumping and swinging with her cousin Calista and playing games with Daddy.

After the reunion in Malad, Utah we drove on to Rexburg and Driggs, Idaho where Miriam, Charlotte and Caitlin live. It was a very good time and we loved seeing the newly built Rexburg temple and visiting even more cousins!

In Driggs, we played with Miriam Nate and Jarrett. We rode horses and 4 wheelers and Hali got to pet a brand new colt! She was really excited about that. (After we got back home to Texas she would not stop saying, "Baby horsey, baby horsey!".)

They also took us to Jackson Hole Wyoming. We had lunch at the park, went to the hot springs, and saw mooses! :)
